Fedora Workshop at OR18
If you will be traveling to Bozeman, Montana for OR2018 June 4-7 please join David Wilcox and Daniel Bernstein at Montana State University for a full-day workshop on June 4 that will provide an overview of Fedora–the flexible, extensible, open source repository platform for managing, preserving, and providing access to digital content. The latest version of Fedora provides native linked data capabilities and a modular architecture based on well-documented APIs and ease of integration with existing applications.
In this workshop both new and existing Fedora users will learn about and experience current Fedora features and functionality first-hand.
Using pre-configured virtual machines, workshop participants will learn how to create and manage content in Fedora in accordance with linked data best practices and the Portland Common Data Model, how to search and run SPARQL queries against content in Fedora using the included Solr index and triplestore, and how to import resources into Fedora and export resources from Fedora to external systems and services as part of a digital curation workflow.
Workshops are included when you register for OR2018. Advance registration is required: http://www.or2018.net/registration-fees-deadlines/. We look forward to seeing you in Bozeman. Early bird discounted registration for OR is available until April 22.
