As the number of DSpace and Fedora repositories and VIVO installations grow–in 2018 there are more than 2,900 registered worldwide–the desire to learn more about them–where are they, how they are accessed online, what type of content they hold, software versions, specializations etc.–also increases. Answers to these and other questions can lead to greater connections among institutions and repository instances with similar goals and interests.

During a recent meeting of DSpace Developers an idea was shared by Terry Brady of Georgetown University, to host community meetings that discuss what DSpace Developers are up to; a developer showcase that allows developers the opportunity to share their tools, processes and recent work with everyone in the DSpace community.

The April 15-18 ILIDE (Innovative Library in Digital Era) International Conference in Jasna, Slovakia is open for registration. This International conference attracts librarians from all over the world. The aim of the Innovative Library in Digital Era Conference is to present visionary and original ideas based on the extensive experience of the participating experts and institutions.

The 4Science proposal for an implementation aimed at increasing the interoperability features supported by the most broadly used platforms in the open science ecosystem for Literature Repositories, Data Repositories, Journals platforms and CRIS/RIMS, such as DSpace, Dataverse, OJS and DSpace-CRIS, has been selected for funding under the OpenAIRE call for services, launched last December.

Members of the University of Calgary community can now archive, showcase, and track the impact of their research outputs with ease thanks to a major upgrade to PRISM, the University of Calgary’s Digital Repository.

Established in 2003 and housing over 30,000 items, PRISM has long been a repository to share and preserve articles, theses, conference proceedings, technical papers, working papers, open educational resources, creative works, and more.
