DSpace-CRIS is an open-source extension of DSpace, built on top of the JSPUI, originated in 2009 from a collaboration with the University of Hong Kong. Characteristic of DSpace-CRIS is a flexible and extensible data model, which allows the creation and management of any kind of entities (such as researchers, organizations, projects, etc.) and the relations among those entities.

On May 16, 2017 Fedora community members presented a webinar entitled " Powering Linked Data and Hosted Solutions with Fedora." David Wilcox, Fedora Product Manager with DuraSpace, provided an overview of Fedora with a focus on its native linked data capabilities. Hannah Frost, Manager, Digital Library Product and Service Management with Stanford University, presented Hyku, the Hydra-in-a-box repository product, which provides a hosted option for Fedora-based repositories.

Austin, TX  DuraSpace concluded its latest Hot Topics Webinar Series, "Introducing DSpace 7: Next Generation UI.”  Curated by Claire Knowles, Library Digital Development Manager, The University of Edinburgh, this three-part series began by showcasing the efforts of the team behind the next generation UI for DSpace highlighting aspects of DSpace 7 development.  The second webinar demonstrated how DSpace can be used for research data taking a closer look at DSpace in action at the University of Edinburgh and the Dryad Digital Repository.

This month DuraSpace presented a two-part webinar series entitled “2015 Accomplishments and A Sneak Peek at What Lies Ahead" highlighting the recent developments in the suite of DuraSpace services: DSpaceDirect, ArchivesDirect, DuraCloud, and soon-to-be released, DuraCloud Vault. The first webinar -- presented November 9th by Carissa Smith, Cloud Services Manager -- focused on "The 'Direct' Services - DSpaceDirect and ArchivesDirect".
